Blue Whale Titanium Coin

After the successful sell-out of the 2013 Titanium Blue Whale Coin by Pobjoy Mint, we are happy to announce the release of a new 2017 Blue Titanium coin on behalf of the South Georgia and The Sandwich Islands Government which bears the ever so popular Blue Whale once again.
Blue whales are the biggest animals ever believed to have inhabited Earth. These stunning marine mammals rule the oceans at approximately 100 feet long and 200+ tons. Their tongues alone can weigh as much as an elephant. Their hearts, as much as an automobile. They have a broad, flat head and a long, tapered body that ends in wide, triangular flukes.
They reach these mind-boggling measurements on a diet plan composed almost specifically of small shrimplike animals called krill. During particular times of the year, a single adult blue whale consumes about four tons of krill a day.
Their colour holds true blue undersea, but on the surface area their colouring is more a mottled blue-gray. Their underbellies take on a yellow-coloured tint from the countless microbes that take up residents on their skin.
Blue whales reside in all the world's oceans occasionally swimming in little groups but typically alone or in two’s. They typically spend the summer seasons feeding in polar waters and undertake lengthy migrations to the Equator as winter takes hold.
