Presented in a handsome four-page mini brochure is a full, mint-condition set of six stamps commemorating the Battle of the Somme, part of the Isle of Man Post Office’s ongoing observation of the 100th anniversary of WWI. The brochure itself includes an expert look at the fighting on the Western Front, including tactics and weapons, written by Matthew Richardson of Manx National Heritage, and a tribute to Ashley Watterson McGain, who was killed, aged 23, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
