Isle of Man Post Office is pleased to acknowledge the sporting and cultural significance of scootering on the Isle of Man while marking the 60th anniversary of the very first Manx International Scooter Rally. These stamps include 8 elements of this multi-faceted and exceptional celebration.

In 1981, following difficulty at scooterist events in the UK, the Isle of Man Executive Council called an emergency conference and enforced a restriction on scooters coming on to the Island, with the Steam Packet Company and Sealink being informed not to embark any scooters without Manx registrations. The constraints on non-resident scooters, definitely in big groups, stayed in force up until 2002. The Isle of Man Scooter Rally has actually now been restored as a bi-annual gathering, still drawing crowds of scooterists of any ages; long might it continue.

This enjoyable and lively 8 stamp collection is offered in Mint and CTO. Each of the stamps includes a standout image from the history of this celebration consisting of the following;
